NewsGuild Wars 2 first beta weekend announced

Guild Wars 2 first beta weekend event is set to take place next weekend from April 27th through April 29th.
ArenaNet made the quick announcement via the official Guild Wars 2 Twitter, but not many details are known. The company promised a blog post will go up today or tomorrow answering many questions players have regarding the first beta weekend such as content and timing.
They did confirm, however, that players will not have access to the Guild Wars 2 Hall of Monuments, Collector's Edition, or other pre-purchase items during the Beta Events. They also said there is no NDA on the beta weekends, so expect plenty of videos and screenshots.
The much-anticipated sequel is set to release this year, though ArenaNet has not yet revealed a launch date.
